In addition to two special mentions at Fano International Film Festival and Festival Kamera Akcja in the Best Animated Short Film category, Luce and the Rock won a prize at the Monstrale Festival in the International Competition in October 2023.
During its press conference at Annecy’s International Animation Festival, CANAL+ announced the launch of Mush-Mush season 2 for October 2023. The new adventures of Mush-Mush and his friends will be available in autumn 2023 on CANAL+kids in France.
Summer is coming! And La Cabane is currently developing a new sunny series! EMMA MAKES WAVES (52×11’) follows the summer adventures of Emma, a young girl who can communicate with the Aquaspirits, the amazing creatures who live by the little volcanic island where she was born. While helping the locals and the Acquaspirits live in harmony, Emma discovers how precious it is to be surrounded by a loving community.
Created by Giulia Iacopini, the series is co-written by Julien Gallet and co-designed by Camille Chao.
Exciting times ahead! Britt Raes’ first series LUCE IN THE LOVELY LAND, which is developed by Thuristar and La Cabane, has been selected to be presented at the 2023 Cartoon Forum! The series, based on Britt’s short film LUCE AND THE ROCK, follows the adventures of 6 year-old Luce and her best friend, a giant rock creature, as they wander in the Lovely Land and make unexpected friends. The project is developed in partnership with VRT-Ketnet.
LUCE AND THE ROCK was chosen as the Best European Short Film for Children and Young Audiences at the ECFA Awards, during the 73rd edition of the Berlinale! A big thank you to the ECFA members and to our coproducer Tünde Vollenbroek for representing the film’s team for this occasion.
LUCE AND THE ROCK keeps reaching new heights and is screened at two amazing festivals this week!
The short has been selected to feature in the educational programme of the International Film Festival of Rotterdam, and is also nominated in the Young Audience category at Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
2023 already promises to be a great year for LUCE AND THE ROCK! The film has recently been selected for 5 more festivals taking place in the coming weeks and months:
Indiejunior in January, Play Lisbon in February, Monstra Lisbon Animation Festival and Fargo Film Festival in March as well as Psaroloco International Children’s & Young People’s Film Festival in April have all invited the short film to take part in their official competition. Big contrats to Britt Raes and the whole team!
An amazing win for LUCE AND THE ROCK! The short film has received the Japan Foundation President’s Prize at the 2022 Japan Prize, which awards ‘an excellent work that encourages mutual understanding among nations and races or contributes to cultural exchange’!
Luce and the Rock has reached a new amazing milestone! Within only 9 months, the short film directed by Britt Raes has received a hundred festival selections, following the announcement of the official selection of the Leuven International Short Film Festival.
